Although the bulk of each meeting focuses on Paul's epistle to the Romans, you can look forward to other valued aspects of small group life, such as fellowship, prayer, outreach opportunities and snacks. Previous knowledge of Romans is not necessary. We hope you will experience a friendly, home environment where "perfect" people are not allowed.

This is the home where we meet. |
- Anyone is welcome, whether believer, non-believer, or inbetweener. This is a non-pushy environment, open to inquisitive folks and seekers.
- Where? We meet in Denise and Tom Nash’s home (the old cinder block church) at 42892 Leaburg Drive.
- When? Get-togethers are on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, from 7 till 8:30 PM. The final meeting will be June 21. Tom may start another small group later in the summer. Any from the previous group are welcome to join the new one only if the thought of it makes them smile.
- This blog is the cyberspace home base for the group. Tom will submit new blog posts 2-3 days prior to the Wednesday gatherings. Each post will contain an updated outline containing the current chapter(s) of Romans that we'll cover, as well as discussion questions and relevant information by various commentators.
- Contact Tom at (541) 896-3816 or by email: tomnash63@yahoo.com. Ask him anything. His theological beliefs line up with the statement of faith as adopted by the National Association of Evangelicals: www.nae.net/statement-of-faith/. Tom is accountable to his friend and mentor, Ron Sauer. Ron serves as Young Life's Regional Training Director, Oregon Cascade Region, Mt. Hood Region.
Although Tom comes prepared with plenty of notes and could do most of the talking, he prefers not to monologue at length. All should feel free to share their thoughts at any time. Discussion is encouraged, but not required. If you want to just listen, that's okay. Everyone, not just the facilitator, can present questions to the group. Again, previous knowledge of Romans is not necessary.
A few civil guidelines are recommended: respect differing opinions, try not to interrupt or dominate, let quiet people speak, and no politics please.
What about Paul's epistle to the Romans? Martin Luther, the founder of the Protestant Reformation, wrote this about Romans: "This letter is truly the most important piece in the New Testament. It is purest Gospel." Indeed, Paul's epistle to the Romans is a phenomenal, 16-chapter exposition of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It covers pretty much every theological issue concerning the Christian faith, as well as practical exhortations on living out God's will.
Jesus said, "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." (Matthew 18:20). Our Lord makes His presence known in a special way when Christians meet together. We're looking forward to hanging out with all of you and Jesus! See you soon.
In Him,
Tom and Denise Nash
